Harps can have from 9 to 47 strings.
Small harps, called travel
harps, usu- ally have 22 or 23 strings. Harps
with 26 strings fit between the
travel harps and the floor harps. Smaller
“floor harps” with 29 to 32 strings are usually free
standing. Harps with 34 to 38
strings fall into the “full range” lever harp
