Association of Folk
Harpers and Craftsmen
Music has been my avocation since I was in grade school. I
play several instruments, have done arranging and some
composing.
During an Irish music summer school at UW-Milwaukee, WI in 1992 I
played with the Belfast Harp
Orchestra; in 2004 I performed with
the Chieftains during their touring
concert at the Weidner
Center in Green Bay, WI.
I am a Founding Member of three
local community organizations: the Neenah (WI) Community Band, the
University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley Concert Band, and the Valley
Concert Band, Appleton, WI. At present I perform with the UW-Fox Valley
Concert Band and the Appleton (WI) City Band, contribute music at my
church, and have enhanced the worship music at other local
churches.
My music is the spectrum of popular, folk and classical, which
is suitable for all types of memorable events.

About the Celtic Harp...
The Celtic harps I have built are like the
Celtic Harp, which is a traditional instrument of the British
Isles that predates the modern concert harp. It is an
appealing instrument producing pretty bell-like tones which lend
authenticity to a repertoire of traditional Irish and English
music, and add a unique sound to all music played on it.
The Celtic Harp is a naturally acoustic
instrument, but can be amplified when the need arises. It
can be easily carried; therefore, can go where a concert harp
cannot. This beautiful instrument is hand-crafted from
fine hardwoods. Its versatility and transportability make
the Celtic Harp suitable for a variety of occasions.
The dynamics and exquisite beauty of the
Celtic Harp are unsurpassable; my harp music will add a
charming, elegant touch to any event.
Celtic Harp music is often characterized as
ethereal. It provides a unique contrast to otherwise
"traditional" musical entertainment. Consider
Harp Music for Memorable Events for a variety of occasions.
About the Pedal Harp...
My pedal harp is like the harps that you see
in the orchestra. Pedal harps are made out of maple wood,
with beautiful veneers of wood finishes added, and some also
have gold leaf applied. There are seven (7) pedals on
every harp which are moved by the harpist's feet; one pedal for
each of the seven (7) notes of the scale. The pedals move
discs at the neck of the harp which shorten or lengthen the
sounding length of the strings to produce sharps, flats, and
naturals. By using the pedals, the harpist can play very
chromatic music.
